NUS-DTU Joint PHD Programme

General Information

The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Technical University of Denmark (DTU) have identified Indoor Environment and Energy as the key research area for the initial phase of the joint programme. This area of collaboration was formalised by a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy (ICIEE) at DTU and the Centre for Total Building Performance (CTBP) at NUS in November 2000.

"I am very happy to take part in the newly established joint NUS-DTU PhD programme. The Centre for Total Building Performance at NUS is leading in the field of tropical building research. Combining the knowledge on skills found at NUS and my home university will undoubtedly lead to a fruitful collaboration - now and in the years to come!"

First PhD student from DTU, Gregers Peter Reimann, on his stint in NUS.

"I'm acclimatized to the tropical climate, hence my first impression of Denmark is it's cold, when I walked on the streets of Copenhagen. But the Danes are warm and kind. I have my first class in the International Center for Indoor Environment and Energy in DTU. The class was active, and the lecturers had to stop from time to time to answer questions from students who came from different countries."

Mr Gong Nan, a PhD student in NUS, who spent one year undertaking research in DTU
